Boat Bite

This is why I always wear a harness, life jacket, and PLB (personal locator beacon) in the cockpit and on deck. I was leaning over the grill to work on something when the grill decided to tip over. It is attached to the safety rail. Over I went with it. Fortunately, I did the drop with the knees and stayed in Reboot. Scary. The tension on the harness was most welcome. I did not, however, emerge unscathed. Fair winds and following seas 🙂

Elevator, elevator, but no shaft

It s Tuesday here in Fiji and still no shaft. It seems that the shaft for the other boat was not machined properly so it went back to be fixed. This moved Reboot s shaft back another day. So XO and I wait and bake. With respect to the elevator, elevator comment. Back in the dark ages when I was in high school we got a very creative group of cheerleaders. Tired of the old cheers they created a number of new ones of which I remember two: “elevator, elevator we got the shaft” and “repel them, repel them, make them relinquish the ball.” There were others I am sure but memory fades. This was in the early 60 s and the elevator cheer lasted one game before being banned by the administration.Fair winds and following seas 🙂

There is always one

So the people on boat yyy showed back up. They got sorted. Then they came over and anchored right next to us. We told them that we would swing into them. They said no, its all right. Then they left their boat again. The rain and wind have come back. Both sides of Reboot are adorned with fenders. There is always one in evey group.Fair winds and following seas 🙂

//WL2K Norfolk to BYI 11/22 Boat Dreams

Most adults have experienced getting caught up in their bedding. This frequently results in strange dreams. The same is true when voyaging on a sailboat. We (Cam, Forrest and I) have been laughing about the weird dreams we have all been having. The fact that Reboot is always moving plus the realizty that our sleep wake cycle is very disrupted by the need to stand watch seems to make sleeping more interesting. Fair winds and following seas 🙂
