It has been raining for the past couple of days. Reboot is getting a great rinse. Unfortunately it needs a wash first.Fair winds and following seas 🙂
For some reason the Internet in Pangkor has been very slow the past few days. This is particularly frustrating as I have been trying to get an order together from Defender. It seems to be a wide area problem. Fair winds and following seas 🙂

Reboot has been underway about 25 hours on our trip to Banda Island. So far the trip has been a mixed bag. After cleaning the islands around Debut we headed almost due west. Unfortunately the wind angle was a little too much downwind. Coupled with a beam sea (which rolls the boat) it was hard to keep the course I wanted to steer. Since then the wind has been up and down and we have had some rain. (Yesterday was hot and sunny.) So the comfort level has been up and down too. I am in company of about 5 other boats from the fleet. It is nice to know I am not alone. But it requires extra care to keep a good separation. A couple of days ago I had major dental surgery. I have four holes in my jaw and about 16 stitches. I am living on otc pain medication. It is not a lot of fun.April 1 is (was, here in Australia) the end of my insurance hurricane exclusion. I can now sail north to Cairns and get positioned for the Sail 2 Indonesia rally. With the aftermath of Hurricane Debbie in my path I am not in a big hurry to leave*. I do, however, need to focus on all those nagging tasks to get Reboot ready. [Procrastination is my finest skill, apathy my middle name.]. Yesterday it was quiet at dawn. And not raining. A miracle! It was a good time to take the old jib down. It came down without a hitch. Of course I had it close hauled so it would fall on deck. Reboot said “lets go sailing” and took off! Fortunately I was still attached to the mooring. I was hesitant to raise the new jib alone even in light winds. With a couple of people it is much easier to get underway and then raise it rather than going crazy arou
Actually its Saturday. Last night it started to rain and has continued since. The forecast is for several more days of rain as a slow moving front passes. Not much fun. Going on shore just means spending money to sit in a restaurant. Wind has been up and down. When up, not terribly comfortable on Reboot. I will make a trip in tomorrow to do some shopping if there is a break in the rain.XO has been very needy. Lots of pacing and vocalizations unless I lay down in the bunk. Then he cuddles and falls asleep. I have been putting gel in his eyes to clear a minor infection. It must be helping. He just quietly lays on his back and lets me do it. Fair winds and following seas 🙂
