Rain

Sitting in the cockpit in a light rain. I am protected by a temporary cover while my new storm hood is under construction. The sun is setting and there is a gentle breeze. That helps keep the mosquitoes away. XO was cuddling for a bit but is now sitting on the opposite side with his forepaws tucked under his body. A nice night. Fair winds and following seas  🙂

XO and Rain

Of course it is the middle of the night. Ferral cat episodes 2 and 3. Trying to get back to sleep. XO outside on leash. Each time I locked him in with me he sat on the companionway steps and howled. I put him on his leash and let him curl up outside. Thunderstorm. He fouled his leash and is caught in the rain. I go get him getting soaked in the process. Leash is wet, I figure he will stay in cockpit. No, he goes out and sits in the rain. Now totally wet he comes back inside and wants to groom sitting on my chest. Fair winds and following seas  🙂

Rain and more rain

Reboot has been caught here in the Kingdom of Tonga between several competing weather systems. The result is that we have had rain every day. There are brief periods of overcast. We use them to swim and visit the shore. Not only does this situation affect Vava u but also the weather for our planned transit to Fiji. So we are pretty much stuck until the weather changes without the advantage of being able to truly enjoy the islands. Although our situation is less than ideal I feel sorry for those who chartered for a one or two week. They too have been stuck in this weather but at far greater expense. We are hoping for a window on Monday to depart. Fair winds. and following seas 🙂

Rain Rain

As those who have been following know we have been having more than our share of maintenance issues. Joy of joys the bilge pump works. The problem was a broken hose. Thus the pump was pumping from the bilge to the bilge.Good thing we found it as we have had several inches of rain all day. Some of it always finds itS way to the bilge. The backup pump works fine, but it will be nice to have them both functional again. Then of course there is the manual pump.Fair winds and following seas 🙂
