I have been here in Port Dickson for about a week. I just paid my marina bill. Including my laundry it was less than 2 nights in a U.S. marina. Quality!Fair winds and following seas

Aussie Hospitality

It has been a trying week. First, my radar breaking loose from the mast on the way into Scarborough. Then getting hammered in Morton Bay by the thunderstorm. Discovering that almost all my dinghy fuel had sloshed out during the storm. Getting some dinghy fuel and a crew member from the VMR in Scarborough. Heading down to Brisbane only to have the steering fail. Going all the way up the Brisbane River to the Botanical Gardens and finding no place to anchor. Heading back down the river until we found an anchorage about 1 1/2 miles from the dinghy dock. Ryan getting sick and having to drop him off so back to solo sailing. Then finding out that the nearest place to purchase fuel on the water was 3 1/2 miles away. And realizing that I might not have enough fuel in the dinghy to make it.Enter the Aussies. First, the nearby marina agreed to receive my repair parts. (Remember that with XO on board I can t go into a marina.) No worries! As I was standing on deck this morning I noticed a beautif

Internet connectivity

When one makes multi-day or multi-week passages over time access to the Internet is one of those things that one craves Early on when making landfall the question arises: Where can I get on the Internet? After a couple of days -when one has dealt with the banks, ,equipment suppliers, family and close friends one (or at least I) start to wonder why I cared. In truth once the business is done of me the Internet just becomes another way to pass the time.Fair winds and following seas 🙂

Via Inmarsat:

It has been over a week since we have seen or heard another vessel. It is a big ocean!. We have also been disappointed with our fishing. Despite 24/7 trolling we have not had a bite in over a week. Rookie (aka Mike) thinks it might be the el nino effect. The birds have been following us. We thought that meant fish but instead they have been spotting our lure. Another overcast and squally morning. 2888 nm to go. Fair winds and following seas 🙂 Please note your reply is limited to 160 Latin characters or approximately 135 for non-Latin characters.
